Marshall McLuhan
Of course, this was never something I did alone; however, coming from a notably small district, writing, editing, designing, and producing a monthly issue was never easy.
Due to starting my Managing Editor tenure as a sophomore, I had to learn how to oversee and manage a staff in addition to constructing a newspaper each month. But this challenge became an incredible opportunity to expand my leadership, teamwork, and social skills, on top of, unsurprisingly, my design work.
After my first year as Managing Editor, the FHS Press secured a Gold Award from the PSPA.
The 150th Edition of the FHS Press is tentatively scheduled to be released on September 30, 2025. Stay tuned!

Aiden Pournaras, 2024 Shawnee Yearbook Editor-In-Chief
At my high school, the newspaper and yearbook are created in the same class: Print Media Workshop. That means our staff of < 20 students not only produces a 12 page newspaper each month but also a 212 page book each school year. Over the last three years, I worked closely with upperclassmen and underclassmen both to plan, design, and publish the Shawnee Yearbook.
In my experience thus far, I designed 20 mods, made 22 spreads, edited approximately 200 pages of work, and published three yearbooks. And there is still more to go.
As a freshman, I was trusted to write and design the closing for our 2022-2023 yearbook.
